Fresh off another win.
May 2010 - Late in the evening on April 30, 2010, Suitcase emails and mobiles started to buzz with a simple message from Lisa Sutherland, one of our account leads – “We won!”
With the Flames out of the playoffs, we quickly learned that Lisa was letting us all know the our Athletes World website had just taken home Best Commercial Website honours at the MediaFRESH 2010 Digital Alberta Awards. The MediaFRESH Awards recognize outstanding digital work created in Alberta in 15 categories. This year judges sifted through numerous entries – so we’re excited to have our work attract their kudos.
We should also mention that our website for Coast Mountain Sports was a finalist in the Best Commercial Website category – and it was also a finalist at the recent Ad Rodeo awards. Both of these accounts are part of The Forzani Group, and it goes without saying that it takes a great client with cool brands to help us produce equally great and cool work.
Stay tuned, Suitcase is up for other prestigious awards, and we’re looking forward to more late-night messages from Lisa.
We had a feeling that 2010 was going to be a good one.
May 2010 - More than spring has arrived at our offices, as Suitcase is happy to announce that three companies have also arrived on our roster. A couple of months ago we joined up with Spruce Meadows, an internationally recognized entertainment and event brand, to design and deliver a new online experience to riders and fans alike. The new site is live and you can check it out at www.sprucemeadows.com
We also shook hands with Carma Developers to help bring their Seton community online. The development is a mixed commercial / residential project that with create a new “urban” core in Calgary’s southeast quadrant. Initial work has begun figuring out functionality and user experience design, and we’re stoked to have been given the opportunity to help Carma tell this story.
More recently we rekindled a relationship with WestJet. We worked with them a few years back on their internal branding and digital interaction. This time around we’re working with them on the digital component for their summer promotion. Trust us – we’ve seen the plans and it’s going to be a good one.
Not a bad start to the year, and we’re looking forward to even more fun – stay tuned.
We’ve got big plans for 2010, and that starts with adding to our team
December 14, 2009 - Early December has been an exciting time as we welcome six people to Suitcase. For both our clients and our current team members these additions bring diversity, talent and renewed energy as we look to take Suitcase to the next level. Joining Suitcase at our Calgary office was Eleanor Chow (project manager) who made the switch from Rare Method. We also found desk space for Bruce Ramsay (copywriter) and Asim Kirmani (art director) both formally of Comrade Agency, as well as Igor Barbashin (developer) who made the jump from Chandran Media. To support Suitcase’s business development efforts in the U.S. market we’ve added Lisa Kern in New York, and Jess Roberts in Atlanta.
Keep watching for even more announcements in 2010. The new year is going to be very busy for us, and if you want to be a part of some exciting growth contact us

October 2009 - The team at Suitcase was pretty excited to have played a role in helping Shaw Business Solutions redesign and relaunch their website. Suitcase helps Athletes World crown new brand "Ambassadors"
September 2009 - Q: How do you convince Canadian youth that your brand is cool? A: Let their friends do it! In return, AW Ambassadors are awarded points that can be redeemed for AW merchandise and exclusive gear from all the top AW brands.
